On the implementation of large period piece-wise linear Arnold cat map

Abstract This paper presents a piece-wise linear cat map (PWLCM) obtained by perturbing the conventional quantized Arnold (QACM) with nonlinear term. The effect of term on dynamics QACM is investigated. We show that eigenvalues, hence Lyapunov exponents PWLCM depend initial conditions, which not case for QACM. As result, proposed generalized form QACM, whose period exponentially increases respect to precision, thus taking as value 1.09 × 10 513 only 10-bit precision; while corresponding 768. sensitivity system contributes increase its period, enhance complexity. An electronic implementation both and in 4-bit precision using Multisim presented. architecture are implemented Verilog prototyped Zynq 7020 FPGA board. For performs 1.072 Gbps throughput at 134 MHz maximum frequency. verified experimental simulation behaviors perfectly match, confirming effectiveness circuit exhibiting expected real-time.
